My neighber told me this since she was scared to tell her mother. She asked me, since next year she'll be in 6th grade, if she could wear like light pink lip stick, fountaion, and blush and stuff. She told me she was going to use natural products, and only use LIGHT color makeup. Not dark or those scary colors. She doesn't want to wear mascara or eye shadow or anything. I thought it was ok, but I didn't know if she was going to get permission. I talked to her mom and she thought I was giving her bullcrap. Is it ok for 6th graders to start wearing makeup? Is it OK for 6th graders to wear lip stick? (or any other makeup?)?
i would not sugest lipstick. being a freshman i remember friends putting on lipstick in middle school. it sucks becuase people talk about it behind your back. LIPGLOSS thats the way to go, its a lot easier to take off, healthier ((doesn't stain)), and people don't laugh. lip stick is to mature for middle schoolers.
it is fine to wear make up as long as its natural. but i wouldnt sugest foundation. because foundation and puberty... oil and a blocker. it will cause more pimples.
so no foundation she wouldn't need to anyways. tell her
1. eye liner is good
2. lip gloss
3. and SOFT eye shadow if she wantsIs it OK for 6th graders to wear lip stick? (or any other makeup?)?
Definately. If they know how to put it on. And I would stick with lipgloss and shimmery things not red lipstick or anything like that cuz that looks trashy.
Too young, no?
It seems like a much bigger thing than it really is. She just has to be careful how you applies the make-up. My mom said I looked like a clown when I started useing make-up.
Also, if she uses too much make-up, or if she is allergic to the ingredents, she could ';break-out'; really bad.
She should do only what she is comfortable with.
Some girls in my school did start in the 6th grade but ended up with cystic pimples and other crap like that resulting from wearing too much makeup. I suggest she starts wearing make up at 14 or older.
Maybe a little like some light colored eyeshadow and lipgloss but nothing big like foundation, eyeliner, lipstick and all that jazz.
Ahh not lip stick..Def not.
When I was in 6th i wore eyeliner,and lip gloss.Thats it.
This is a look grade school girls need to stay away from. There is plenty of time for makeup. A little colored lip gloss is enough at this age. You have enough skin problems without starting to wear makeup at a young age.
totally.i let my daughter ware makeup at age 10.shes aloud towere light colers and brown blush.no mascara or eye liner!
yes it ok! as long as they don't wear a dark shade that they would look slutty!
No way. Any kind of make up would make her look like a skank. I would suggest colored gloss, but that's all.
i'm 13 and when i was in sixth grade, i wore:
1. bareminerals spf 15 natural powder
2. black mascara'
3. light pink or peach lipgloss
i think sixth graders can wear makeup! me and my friends did. sometimes i think they could even wear a light pink blush or a shimmery light shadow. just no eyeliners. it will make them look like sluts.

naw it makes them look like hookers
I don't think lip stick would be received well by the other middle schoolers. Maybe lip gloss? And only foundation if she really needs it but if not, tinted moisturizer and a little bit (teeny bit!) of blush. Thats definitely enough until about 8th grade.
I think lip gloss (instead of stick) would be fine. I don't know any one who wears lipstick in middle school. Blush would probably be okay, but just a little on the apple of her cheeks, not too much. I don't think she should start wearing foundation yet. Tinted moisturizer at the least.
well, im not saying it's okay or it isn't. but when i was in 6th grade, a lot of the girls already started wearing makeup. not too much, just a little eyeliner and sometimes eye shadow. but, i think that it's really just up to her mom to allow her or the girl to do it without her mom's approval. i think it's really up to them whether or not it's okay.
i guess.. my friend wears natural makeup and it doesnt look like she got anything and shes in 6 grade
i dont think a 5th,6th or 7th grader needs to wear any make up! To me ppl around these ages are young and beautiful. They have the youth, and can afford NOT to put on any make up. I think the most beautiful thing is a lady who doesnt need to put on concealer or foundation or lip stick and can go out with confidence! You can wear some lip balm, and i think that is natural and beautiful!
I am in sixth grade too. Personally i would not were make up to school, but i guess if you were colors that look like your skin tone and wear mascara and nice eye shadow it would be o.k.
No. She is too young for all that...her delicate skin doesn't need foundation and blush and as she approaches puberty, her skin is going to be very sensitive anyway...make up can only aggravate acne or cause blackheads. She needs to keep her skin scrupulously clean and use a light moisturizer...If she uses foundation and blush...she will look like she's made-up for Halloween!...
I think she could probably wear a nice light colored pink or coral tinted lip gloss...that would be ok as long as it wasn't ridiculous red or blue or like that.
i only started wearing make-up in 7th grade, and then it was only eyeliner. i kind of looked like a doofus, though, but i hung out with a lot of cheerleaders who wore pretty much every kind of make-up every day. i think the only make-up that's really appropriate before at least 8th grade is concealer or something to conceal pimples, since girls always get so worked up over having an embarassing pimple in middle school! :]
I think its ok if 6th graders to wear ';light'; makeup. When I was in 6th grade I would wear some lip gloss and concealer to cover zits. Foundation is way tooo much to wear in 6th grade. Believe foundation looks terrible on teenagers but on middle-aged adults its ok. I think that 6th graders should not wear dark colors, if u want to wear eyeliner where a ';very'; light shade and for mascara, try to find the clear one, which will look alot more natural. You dont want to go to school looking like a want-to-be barbie!
i dont think there if its eve necessary for them to wear make up.....In my opinion i dont think they would need it....I think she is still too young she could at least wait until she gets to middle school. And if her mother doesnt allow it then she shouldn't because i dont think she would want to get in trouble...hope this helps
Whoa lip stick? Slow down grl! I think it would be fine to wear like a little make up (foundation, coverup, little eyeliner and shadow) but not lip stick. Im 14 and i don't even wear lipstick. Tell her to stick with lip gloss. That's much cuter anyway.
when i was in 6th grade i wore eyeliner and lipgloss that was it. I got alot of comments from 7th and 8th graders saying that they liked it. But i only started this in the middle of the year. Tell her not to start at the beginning. Wait.
Sure, why not? I don't understand why people want their daughters to be a certain age before they start to wear make up. It's just the same as a 30 year old doing it.
Noo she is way to young for makeup...instead of lip stick lipgloss would be better...no foundation. 6th grader girls generally have pretty nice skin...
6th grade is too young for makeup...she should instead learn to love her beauty now before she gets too dependent on makeup.
I dont think shes old enough for foundation and blush just yet but i think lipstick or gloss is ok
As long as it is tastefully done (as you described) then it is OK so long as it is OK with her parent(s). If a 6th grader is trying to wear too much make-up, it covers up their natural beauty!
