What is a lip stain in the makeup category?

I have been reading answers to peoples questions about a lipstain and I want to know what that is so if someone could please be so kind and help me by telling me what that is.

It is usually a liquid substance that you apply to your lips and that has pigment that ';stain'; as in it adheres to and seep into the skin and will not easily come off instead of sitting on top of the skin like a gloss or lipstick would. They generally appear sheer and natural. The best way I can describe the way they work is imagine drawing on yourself with a magic marker. Most people use them alone but some people put it on their lips before their lipstick or gloss so that when that wears of they still have some color.

kdd pretty much summed up your question. I have tried stain and found it very drying. It felt like my lips were sealed in plastic. The color did last a looonnnggg time though.
it pretty much makes ur lips look pink without looking fake or looking like it lipgloss. i have one %26amp; its really good. it looks like colored water
